I can hardly contain my excitement as I pack my bags for our family vacation to Mexico!
And...yes, I know the Von Traps are Austrian, not Mexican but The Sound of Music is my all time favorite movie so let's make it work 😂
It's been four long years since we've taken a family vacation...like on a plane...more than a 5 hours drive type of trip....and I cannot wait to spend some quality time with my husband, kids and my mom. As a teacher, nutrition coach, wife, and mom of three, my schedule has been bananas...I'm sure you can relate!
Believe it or not, I haven’t taken a single day off from Macros with Maureen in over 15 months, and I’m excited for this opportunity to relax and recharge.
While I'm thrilled to be taking a break, I'm also committed to maintaining my healthy lifestyle and showing you that flexible dieting is possible even when on vacation.
Plus…I'm so grateful that I'll be able to run my small group, Shift, even while traveling. These ladies have learned SO MUCH in just a week, and they’re already starting to shift their mindset about nutrition. It truly brings me so much joy!
I want to show my Shifters that it's possible to enjoy flexible dieting even while on vacation. That's what I mean when I say "macros can fit your lifestyle".
Don’t get me wrong…I’ll definitely be enjoying lots of tacos and margaritas...like muchos tacos, but I'll also be mindful of my nutrition goals. My plan is to eat at my maintenance calories, knowing full-well that I'll probably go over most days with all the amazing food (and tequila!!) Mexico is famous for.
I know that I need to give myself a break from my usual routine in order to truly unwind and feel rejuvenated, so I’m not tracking any food or working out on my trip. And...gasp...I won't be wearing my Apple Watch!
Instead, I'll be spending my days lounging on the beach, swimming, soaking up the sun, reading, and spending quality time with my family. I'm so excited to disconnect from the world and truly be present in the moment.
To do list be damned!
While I won't be posting on social media during my vacation, I might share some snapshots of our adventures in my stories.
I want to take this opportunity to truly be present with my family and make mew memories. I know that one week "off" won't ruin all the progress I’ve made, and I'm looking forward to coming back refreshed and re-energized.
So, with that, I'll see y’all in a week!
Adios!
